b16a Tick Tick Tick S#*&

Hello everyone, i have a b16a and i'm gettin a ticking noise from the valve train, this only happens when it's fully warmed up, it takes a good 5 min of driving to get it to make that noise. It's not too loud but i do notice it, and it seems like it's either coming from the fuel injectors or the valves. I've been reading up on b16a ticking, and people say the valves should be adjusted every 24k kms. Is this right? do you guys get your valves adjusted on a regular basis? and how much would this roughly cost to do? and if i get this done i assume i'll have to change the valve gasket, what part # is that for a b16a? i'd rather do it myself but i really don't wanna tamper w/ the valves n stuff

dude is most likely your valves take it to a shop they need to be adjusted and you'll be good no more noise. It shouldint cost too much because all they have to do is take the vavle cover off and turn a screw driver. You could do it your self you just have to have your owners manual to tell you the spacing between the valves and the rocker arms Oh and get your self a multi measuring tool from canadian tire or princes auto or something

so i decided to book an appointment w/ a honda service center, you'll know the results monday @ noon. I have a couple questions for you don_won2, what part of the engine blew? how long was it ticking for? how loud was the ticking? did the ticking start when engine is cold or after warm up? it takes about 30 min of driving to get the ticking to start in the b16a

b16s are known to tick a little bit..its normal.. if its loud and obvious you should look at getting your valves adjusted
