b16a1 into a 95 civic?

A friend of mine is selling a b16a1 from his civic ef and I was told the tranny is different is that true and is it possible to swap it in or no ?

obvistly not i answered my own question one is cable and the other 1 is hydro tranny

short geared hydro trannys aren't cheap either. if you can some how convert to cable clutch, it's possible. you might also have to get a different harness and ecu intsead of the one your friend has. depends on what year is car is. i don't think you wanna doengrade to OBD-0

yes the tranny is different, his cable clutch system wont work with your hydro system. also, his motor will need to be changed from OBD-0 to OBD-1 wiring to work with your car. u'll need to change the O2 sensor and alternator at the least to make it work.

IMO, not worth the extra hassle, especially when you consider that it is an older engine, you are just aging your car. get a jdm b16a(2nd gen).
