B20-b18 "ffrankkensteinnnn"
im thinking of buying a 93 civic hatch its got a b20 block and a b18 top end the car has been gutted but still maintains original interior. A/c is out, heating is out and its got a posted 1/4 mile time of 12 secs on street rubbers. Type r tranny and sum carbon fiber add ons. I dunt know if its a good buy :S ne1 have ne problems with this type motor?

i was thinking of doing the same thing to my b20 block....well i herd it makes a big diff power....the only complaints i herd is with the b18c/b18c5 heads, they leak oil or something so i kind of shrugged it off...i might still do the b20/gsr vtec build this summer...but over all the b20 block with a b18 head will have way more ***** then a straight b18

A ls motor makes 142@6300hp and 127@5200 ft/lbs a b20b 126@5400hp 133@4300ft/lbs while the b20z makes 146@6400hp and 133@4500 ft/lbs. I havent dont a lot of research on b20 because i dont believe in them. But I assume that i b20b wit a ls head will not make much more power than 145. If you are sastified wit that then by all means. As for the leaking oil if done correct it should not leak any oil. If the head leaks oil the dowl pins were probelly install wrong. If you gonna take the time and effort to swap an ls head you mite as well jus same up a little more and go vtec.
