B20vtec Roudh Idle!! Dies Out
Hey, I installed B20VTEC inside 2000 CIVIC SIR,
specs--
B20B stock bottom block (JDM 40,000KM)
B16A2 HEAD stock
5SPEED
2000 CIVIC SI (AUTOMATIC ECU) OBD2B
problem is that, I cant IDLE at normal RPM car dies out. I have to set the throttle cable tension to about 1600 or above or the engine slowl dies out below that..
and the motor shakes and vibrates ...
is it the AUTOMATIC ECU? causing this ..... LOW COMPRESSION?..
help plsss!!

i had a rough idle with my swap, it would keep surging and when id rip it and release the clutch the tach would drop down below 500 and i would get the occasional stall.
in my senario it was just the chip, just had to take my guy for a boot and he adjusted the parameters on the chip and we were good to go.

p28, with a crome programd chip.
but lemme tell you man i like went thru hell with this thing, replaced all the sensors, put my stock TB back on...and like i said after all that it was just the chip. the way u describe that it sounds exaclty like my prob. engine shaking like ****....its like sputering, i never realized how bad sounds below idle lol

Well I dont have DOHC ECU..so Iam using SI automatic SOHC ecu..... you think that will cause too much trouble?

ya that might be a start,
your running a p28, with no programmed chip?
you just gotta go to a place to program it man.
dood your map sensors must be all over the place.
the car doesnt know were idle is. ill pm u my place.

the car is likely getting a poor a/f ratio, you need to get the proper ecu like everyone has said.. why do you think this is happening? your using A on Z, not A on A, everythings gotta match when you do a swap, i ran into this swapping my old ecu to a p28, car ran smoother w/ proper fuel maps.. i'd buy a piggy back unit instead of this chip thing, thats what ive done with my turbo set up and it orks wnders, you can create your own maps, play with vtec, tons of

it doesnt matter, just the chip must be tuned to your settings, the p28 is only a computer that is compatible with acura and hondas and able to be burnt chips to run propers settings.
you just need a proper chip bra.
