clutch pedal is hard to push
i recently bought an 88 civic from an old man and the car is so perfect but i noticed the clutch is extrmely hard to push in.. and it squeeks too... th eclutch was replaced 10k ago before i got the car. do u guys think that the cable may need adjusting? the cable was also replaced at the time of clutch replacement. any ideas pop to mind...any help is appreciated.. thanx

Did 88 civic's have hydraulic or clutch cable? If its hydraulic, I'd say there might be a air leak somewhere in the system. If its a clutch cable, then maybe the cable itself needs adjustment.
You could try this as a starter thing;
Use HoneyGoo(Which I recomend) or WD-40, and spray the spring on the clutch foot pedal and see if that helps..

ya it sounds normal to me but it could just need a little adjustment if its that hard to push.. could be a bad release bearing. dont be playin with the clutch cylinder on the back of the pedal. not a good idea to be messin with it. you can replace it tho.

it is a cable clutch... i was leaning towards release bearing too... but the sound is coming from inside the car... i am going to try adjusting it and we will see how that goes... when i say its hard to push... i mean really hard... like you need almost two feet hard.

start with the cable, try adjusting it first, then if that doesn't work then replace the cable..
usually when a clutch is replaced the TOB, pressure plate and clutch..
maybe you are just a little girl and can't press a clutch in lol..
I have a 1992 integrand its easy to press

believe me. its not me being weak. it is extremely hard to push. the throttle cable and all clutch componenets were repalceed when clutch was replaced. i will try to adjust the cable in a couple days when i get time

the throttle cable was replaced? what about the clutch cable?
i'm pretty sure adjusting the clutch cable only adjusts where it grabs. i have 2 DA's and fiddled with both of them and all it did was changed the grab point in the pedal.
