to be honest for a civic aftermarket springs are so damn cheap for good quality, its not worth cutting the springs, and cutting springs will also throw off your spring rate

yeah i wouldn't do it! Very bad idea! If you don't do it properly don;t do it at all, i mean suspension can be done for fairly cheap on these cars anwyays like piggy was saying.

It's gonna cost you more to cut the springs. I sold used eibach sportlines for $60 a few days ago.

One of my friends bought a car with cut springs = broken spring in a year.
Another other friend bought a car with cut springs...it popped out of place and popped a tire...not to mention that it bottomed out ever time the street wasn't perfect.

Even if you cut 1 coil on each spring and perfectly made it so they were cut the same length..installed them with zipties to help prevent them popping out. It's still not worth the reliability hit you take. Most lowering springs aren't that great...why would you want to make something thats worse.

Cutting you springs has to be one of the cheapest dumbest things you can do to your car. A coil over cup kit cost about $200. Why would you even consider cutting the springs. But when your talkin about suspension a good rule of thumb is you get what you pay for. If you are to buy a $200 coil cup. It will lower your car but your ride quality will goto . And you will blow shocks. Honeslty i wouldnt use anything other than a full coil-over.

Don't do it, if you take a little time and look on ebay you'll find some springs for cheap, I found my h&r race springs for 50 bux on ebay, the guy just put them on, went around the block and decided it was too low...

Just look on ebay:thumbsup:

Don't listen to these kids.

Cut them down to 1/4 their original size and then stab yourself in the face with them.
