does anyone have a reason for me not to get nos on my b16

Better yet, get an fbody and spray it!! I tried out the 125 hp jets on my z28 last night, and it felt good.. REAL GOOD. It broke the tires loose at a 70 kph in a 2nd gear roll-on 275/40/17 r-compound tires.

Whats the lowest shot you can get with a Direct port? does anyone know?

I havent looked up which statute in the highway traffic act that speaks to nitrous oxide, but personally, I feel safer with my nitrous tank in my cabin than in my trunk. Why? If my car is rear ended, its designed as a crumple zone and my tank will likely rupture from the impact. If my tank is in the cabin, which is designed to protect the occupants, the bottles is protected to a greater degree. I have a blow down tube that vents to the outside in case pressures exceed 3000 psi.

If you installed or used it incorrectly, of course you can blow up your motor. If I have a cammed car and over-rev it and spin a bearing, is that my fault or the cam's? People are always so quick to blame the nitrous.
Did he have all the safety devices on his car or just the nitrous kit? (i.e. window switch on his car, ignition box with soft-rev limiter, fuel pressure safety switch, colder spark plugs, retarded timing) You can blow your motor on even a small shot if you dont have the safety goodies and let it go lean just once.
My car has 180k km's and has been happily spraying a 125 shot all day long on a stock bottom end.

if you get in an accident and the insurance company finds out that your car has nos, they can void your insurance and you will be responsible for the repairs , and if the accident is your fault you could be sued instead of you insurance company because you no longer have insurance

its not constant power. NOS doesnt make you faster... well it does, but only when you're trying to pass. push to pass... anything more than that is stress on the motor + there is always the leak hazard that you dont want

if you add Nos and don't reinforce your bottom end, such as bearings and rings, there is a very good chance you will blow your engine. Alot of good all that horsepower does if your car can't move. If you install Nos properly it is very expensive.

I hope I dont come across as being offensive, but what experience do you have with n20? Given a realistically sized shot, proper tuning and the appropriate safety devices you will not cause abnormal engine wear. I have 180K km's on a bone stock motor spraying a 125-150 shot (about 50% of the engine's rated stock hp) with absolutely no issues. Oil analysis tells me I have no abnormal wear on bearings etc. Compression/oil pressure is the same as when I bought the car. My motor's bottom end would suffer a lot more wear from putting on a head/cam set up and spinning it up an extra 1500 rpm than subjecting it to n20....
Is n20 expensive? Its all relative... if you think that all you need is the $500 kit, and then find out you need $500 worth of accessories to make the install fail safe, then yes, it might seem expensive. But the other way of looking at it is what mod are you going to get for $1000? Header and exhaust and pray for 15 hp? Or nitrous and get, say, 60 hp (Im assuming this would be a safe level for a stock b16) and 85 lbs/ft tq?
