if you have a new batt and a new alternator - driving it around for a while should have chrged the batt up a bit, but, since it was still loseing power - Im gonna say that either yer alt is faulty, or that you didnt hook up the alt properly, or that the computer part that controlls yer charging system is faulty [but only if yer car has that feature - I have limited knowledge of yer model] or that you got a bum battery.
like I said b4, take the batt in for free testing, and take the alternator back for testing - if it fails they should give you a replacement despite the fact you already hooked it up
In Ontario - the law (or something says) you get 30 days exchange on used parts, and 30 - 90 days exchange on new parts.
I was gonna suspect yer DVD player, but like I said - driving the car around should have charged up yer batt.
Just so everyone reading this knows - charging yer battery using the alternator puts a big strain on the alt shortening its life - do it only in emergency shituations, preferably get/borrow a batt charger.
I have one that i can rent out with a safety deposit in case you teef it.
2 things generally kills electrical devices 1 is heat, 2 is vibration - this goes for cars and home electronics.
