your screwed, the tes pipe eliminates the catalytic converter which is equipped from the factory. you may pass the sniff test but you'll fail the visual inspection, therefore you fail your e-test.

another idea sumone told me is to just put my stock exhaust back on for the test but my car has a diff motor will that cause a problem???

You need a cat to pass the test... It's responsible for bringing down the NOx and Co2... put a cat back in or you're gonna have to "buy" a test. the motor as long as it's properly tuned shouldn't give you any issues.

just put a high flow on and save yourself many headaches. Running a car without a cat will cost you LOTS of money if the cops stop you and see you're not running a cat.

Personally i would remove the test pipe anyways because whats the point in having a few horses over getting a good size ticket if your car is ever inspected/ pulled over. I am not sure what your car has, but i think you should throw a cat on it.

Magnaflow makes this Spun Cat converter, its really compact, allows more flow then conventional cats and is also more efficient then a standard cat. Looks like a win win situation to me. I'm gonna be puttin one in soon. Goodluck with your etest, im in the same situation now. I will be doing mine legit, don't want a crap car on the road.

cat

I bought one of those highflow cats from EBAY..... i looked at it up close and it is basically a resonator..... So i think im looking to buy a e test since i jsut turboed my car and im pretty sure now that i ve upped the fuel and air my No2 gasses will exceed the allowable limits./

What im trying to say is staff away from the ebay sellers claiming high flwo cat asa they are nothing more than an additional resonator.

Thanks for the info, Im running a Turbo D16Y8 right now, Im gonna try a new cat and see how I do. The car is running rich, but i think i can safely turn down the fuel for the etest.

Theres anothe post on this forum talking about a 2spd etest for lowered cars, or cars that can't safely be put on the dyno, seems like a couple of guys have done it, and the limits are higher. May be worth a try.

Got my etest done and passed with flying colors. The tech put my car in as a modified Hot Rod. That bumps up the limits quite a bit. Its also completely legit, If you have alot of mods, turbo like me, or motor swap, you can run car as a modified Hot Rod. If your having any issues talk to the tech and have them change your category. Goodluck.

I installed a highflow magnaflow cat on my Talon. Passed emissions, but it did slow it down. So out came the hammer and a pry bar.
