reading the codes is only the first step in the diagnostic process you will still need to to get live data from a computer interface which can only be performed by trained techs.as a mechanic i can tell you that what your describing sounds allot like a miss fire possibly coming from fouled plug or ignition wire or coil.but without a proper diagnostic you may be replacing parts you don't need i recommend have a real mechanic look at your car it will probably save you money in the long run
