Grandma Civic?

I have a 4-door, automatic, Civic DX. Is there any point in putting any money into this thing to make it a sleeper? Or is it pretty much destined to be slow and boring? Putting a vtec in it would be sick, but I'm thinking that might be pointless with an automatic. Please give me any opinions and suggestions you might have. Thanks.

I forgot to mention, I just turned 16 and don't have a job yet. I'll probably get one, but no matter what I'm gonna be tight on cash, so make your suggestions reasonable if you do answer.

it would be pointless to spend the money on the DX. Best to take the money you would want to spend on it and invest it or put it in a savings account so that you can save to get what you really want.

in the meantime, use the Civic for what its worth--good basic transportation that gets decent fuel mileage. Make a plan to put a specific amount of money away each week if you can into your 'car fund' and then do it, regardless of how tight things get.
