honda civic ex 1998 rims?

i have a honda civic ex 1998 and i feel to many bumps i got heavy 17" chrome rims on it will putting better shocks on the car help or something els i dont want to sell the car or rims these rims are hard to find they are niche bahns help pleeese

I would imagine that the problem is because of the low profile on the tire. You feel everything a little bit more because there isnt very much rubber between the road and the rim. New shocks may not hurt, but if the issue you are feeling are from your rims, they wont make a difference. I would suggest just getting used to it, and try not to hit any bumps too hard. You can bend a rim pretty easily.
