The resale value is too high and their products and service is no where near as good as they claim

They have traditionally had a poor reputation for service at the dlr, but when does a honda need a trans or engine replaced anyway?I think Hondas and Mazdas are much sportier than toyota, but honda gets damn close to toyota quailty levels.I had a 1991 honda accord coupe that went to 240k miles, before i got sick of it and sold it....it still passed california smog check, and it only needed tires and brakes, i never had to put shocks in it....or AC parts, or interior parts, or anything...great cars, they are rated correctly.I feel so strongly about Honda, i actually own honda stock.

I guess you have to buy and own one to understand.Years ago, I would have agreed with you. But now that they're built in the US, and are no longer subject to the long sea voyages that rusted so many of them before they hit the docks, the build quality has ample time to shine.I've had my Civic for a year with only one oil change. I'm looking forward to 8 to 10 years of quality time with my Honda.Which is more than I can say for the Fords and Buicks I've owned. Build quality vehicles or go out of business!

At one time Honda was the top of the line in there product and service, after the people have gotten good service and a good product Honda has declined because of the extra effort to sell more causing them to decline in workmanship, the better vehicle today are American made because the American made car manufactures are trying to catchup with the sales. Honda declined in better made cars is having a lot of problem with the steering, suspension, alignment and automatic transmission as well as the SRS. (see NHTSA) I'm sorry I really like Honda but there loosing it. The older Honda's are far better, Ive had three.

Honda ,Toyota,Chevy ,Dodge, all cars break.ALL.but it seems most import owners are more fanatical about their routine maitenence, where as most domestic cars owners are not.I have worked at both import and domestic dealers, and everybody overhypes their cars, the best way to decide is to hear it from other owners of a particular vehicle,my Honda has 267,000 miles on it with no major problems, but my 2000 GMC has 120,000 on it and has been just as much trouble free.
