ignition problems!!
Okay, heres the deal... I have a 1992 civic DX hatch with a d16y8 motor with full exhaust, chipped computer etc... and recently it started doing some weird . I'll be driving, and all of a sudden it will bog out, backfire, and almost stall at a stop. my engine light comes on when this happens, but only sometimes. I think that it could be an ignition problem, because it feels like it is misfiring an one or more cylinders. if anybody has any ideas of what might be going on, let me know! thanks

find out what the check engine light means and go from there. also put the stock chip back into the ecu. preprogrammed chips aren't good for your car. the ppl that make them take a guess at what mods the motor will have. they usually run rich which is just as bad, if not worse than running lean

ok i'm not fermiliar with SOHC engines and civics, so you'll have to forgive me.
is the Y8 the stock motor? does the stock ecu a vtec ecu? the only thing i can think of is get the chipped ecu reprogrammed and tuned or put the stock chip back in it
