Intake?
i was wondering which after market intake will give me the most performance and best sound? i got a 2000 sir and just wanted to make a few adjustments. thanks in advance

forced induction.

3 inch AEM CAI. performance should be the only thing to look for an intake, not sound.

e-bay 10 bux, get a K&N filter and you are set. no reason to be paying 300 plus. there is not heat/oil/anything with a supremely special purpose, so it does not need to whitstand nuclear bombs.
Plus, alot of expensive CAI's are one piece, e bay's are 2 piece, they can go to short ram in a matter of minutes, other wise you have to be reaaaallly careful in rainy weather throughout the fall season and so on. for the record, i would no suggest cheap e bay parts for any other application. |
the only intake out there that is worth spending the money on is the AEM V2, this is the only intake that I have noticed has had more of a difference then a ebay one
yeah piping is piping, what matters most will usually be the filter, unless u go hardcore like the v2
ye the aem v2 is pretty good but its costly too, but if i were to get it im hearing that it increases fuel constumption i dont know if this is true or not? this is the only thing holding me back rite now
the only reason there is fuel consumption cause your right foot gets heavier from the noise it makes lol
or you could get a whale penis. i got one for my car
go with aem v2 or got a cheep on off ebay hahah
yo man dont listen to these guys and waste ur money....you will soon find out if you do some research that an intake is the most basic part of modifying your car. Go to some flea market or ebay and buy the cheapest short ram intake if its sound you want. Or if your looking for performance gains with still a nice grow get the cold air but again its only an intake get the cheapest one you can find the AEM V2 is the biggest waste of money ever.....
f.i. is right hehe
ye still i think im jus gonna go for a cheaper cold air intake, spend some of the left over money of suspension. by the way i had a general question, i just started to drive stick like a couple weeks ago and was wondering exactly how to kick in vtec cause i heard for the sir its around 7-8000rpm but i dont know i cant really tell when it kicks in i think im doing something wrong does anyone got some advise? also you guys got any tips on saving gas!! lol thats a whole lot right there Thanks in advance
don't turn a/c or fan on. 4th and 5th gears are your best friends.
vtec kicks in at about 5500 i think. you'll hear it when you get an intake. the car gets louder. if you wanna save gas, stay out of vtec.
