ls/vtec rods

this question is only to people who have direct experience with ls/vtec motors.

conn. rods: safe to keep stock (410 000km) or go aftermarket? motor will not be revved past 7500rpm. opinions? already have new rod bearings and piston rings, will be using b16a pistons and shaved head.

well since u already have the motor apart mite aswell change them... a broken rod can cause a lot of damage.. r u planing on sparying or boostin the ls/vtec?

how big of a shot are you doing? if it's like a 40-65 shot, buy a set of OEM rods and have them shot peened.

you are the second now to say that, how much would it cost to get rods shot peened, and, are b18b rods the same or better than b18a

shouldn't cost more than $60-$70. i think canadian cylinder head in scarborough does it.

i don't know of any differences between A and B rods. both are stamped PR4 so i'm assuming they're the same.
