Do some research, how does the car run when its working, try to find a cheap transmission, used rather than new, or a rebuilt one, In the long run it will likely cost you more to buy a different car unless you can find one cheaper than a transmission! Transmission will likely be a couple thousand new!

alrite how do you destroy a tranny on a honda! its like impossible! anyways depends on the engine mileage, and anyway 01 civic with like 120k miles is 5k or so, and a tranny is like 2k or so. Depends on you. if you are willing to sell it without the tranny ull get like 2 grand, and ud have to put up another 3 to get a decent car

Depends on the condition of your car(the miles really are not much of a factor if you have taken care of it on a regular basis). As one guy has answered you will get 1k to 2k$$$ as-is(pending on condition)and you will spend at least twice that for a good used car similar to yours. But that doesnt mean you wont repair the new car 2-3 months from now.You certainly want to compare prices for trans. from a junkyard(????)and through the dealer.Honda has a great reman. trans. program that usually will cost less.Junkyards seem to think Honda trans. are worth their weight in gold!I would certainly repair the vehicle because it would save you in the long run.
