Nothing anyone will tell you is 100% right, because there is NO tried and tested way to break-in an a engine.

there is alot of truth to this, BUT it's also possible to overdo it
while he's right about the cylinder pressure actually putting the loading on the rings, if you have TOO much pressure on a fesh hone, it will not only seat the ring, but chew away too much
if you chew away too much of the ring, you open up the end-gap too much, allowing for MORE blowby

there is really no one best method for it... it really depends on the type of rings used and the type of hone
