new rims make noise
Hey guys, i just put some new 16" rims with 205/45 tires on my 1993 civic SI which is lowered. All of sudden now whenever i turn i hear a rubbing or scratching noise from the rear. Im not sure if the tire is rubbing the inner well, if its the rear disk brakes or wat the ***. I thought maybe tighting the shocks would solve it but it doesnt seem to make any difference. (when i had winters on there was absolutly no noise). Just wondering if there is a quick fix or should i go and get this looked at. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Originally i thought the rims might have been loose, but i checked and rechecked the bolts to make sure they were tight enough. I even pulled the one tire off and tried looking for scrapes on the rims or tires and cant find anything....

car has been lowered for a while and also had these tires on in the past with no noise. I also double checked the bolts and made sure they were tight

ok so i figured the problem out guys. Yesterday i was feeling around the wheel well and couldnt find anything that would be responsible for the noise, so i put masking tape inside the wheel well and took it for a drive around the block. Pulled back into my garage and looked at the tape for scuff marks... low and behold there was a small metal lip about 1" from the edge of the wheel well that had scuff marks all along it, this was rubbing against my tire every time i turned left. I took a grinder to it and removed it w/o damaging anything around it and noise is gone!!!!! so anyone with a 93 civic hatch that might have a similar problem when putting on new rims beware of the fuking metal lip inside the wheel well!!!! thanks guys for all your ideas and input... greatly appreciated!!!!
