In your wet dreams you've seen mine. Besides there isn't 30 million rabbits still cruising around like there are integras.

In my wet dreams!? Please you're driving a Volkswagen Rabbit! That's almost as bad as my car! I've got a friend with a supercharged 215whp Rabbit, another friend with a VR6 Mk2 Golf, and another guy with an APR Stage III Mk4 Jetta. So tell me how your VW is something special?

The only reason there isn't 30,000,000 millions Rabbits anymore is because they've all rotted away... but back in the day, the Rabbit/Jetta Mk1 chassis was the Civic of its day.

PS Your car is slow.

So an 80,000 km rabbit with a 2l 16v t3 turbo engine with a GN intercooler is not special? Tell that to the rest of the world. It has never seen snow, never had any body work, except for the 1980 Kamei spoiler kit I put on last year. All original VW body panels and no Bondo. So tell me that I can't take most Integras on the strip or in an autocross event. I like most Hondas, and I would build an 18C before I wasted my time on a 1.8t or a G60 VW engine. The Integra Type R engine is one of the best 4 cyl engines ever built if not the best, but every body and their sister has an Integra.

^ Your setup is nothing special... if I cared enough, I'd go to VWVortex and find at least 10 other setups nearly identical to yours.

You're just pissed you don't have a "*****" to measure.

Yeah and I can find 10 integras at Tim Hortons down the street. VW Vortex is mostly Cali. How do you think I researched my engine?
BTW I don't recall trying to insult you, so go yourself. All I'm saying is we need to see more modded cars other than 18C type R's. You're saying that my own personal car that I started building when you were 12 is nothing special? what do you drive Mommy's sx2.0?

It's ironic how you just said you looked at VWVortex to research your setup, something which is only possible because VW technical stuff is so well documented, because GUESS WHAT... they're VERY COMMON and A LOT of people have done what you have done.

And I can guarantee you that what I drive (My mom's car, yeah that's it...) is 10x more "special" then your Rabbit. I'm the only one in the GTA, in Ontario, in Canada, and North America that has my car with my specific mods.

You don't know what was done to the engine. You think I don't know that there are other VW's out there with 2l conversions? Yeah and there aren't any civics with 18c conversions either. If you want to see what I've done to the engine, let me know when you can come ta Grand Bend test and Tune, and we'll see what a VW 2l 16v engine can do. Until then

Yeah wow that intimidating... you probably run high 14's just like every other VW guy out there that thinks they're fast.

Hopefully my Mom's SX 2.0 would make it all the way out there...

14's!?!? HAHA! I wouldn't be on this site if I had a car that ran 14's. Just for the record the fastest I've gotten in my car is 12.32 last summer. On 94 octane with 12 pounds of boost. Street tires Kumho 712 195/45r15. I've never run slicks, but a buddy of mine has a set I'm hoping to try out next weekend. I'm hoping to post some pics and timing slips next week. I just don't have a scanner or digital camera. BTW full interior with 4 corbeau Monza seats and 8 point cage. So I know that there are other 2l 16 v turbo rabbits, golfs, jettas etc out there, but I'm not intimidated by a contour.
BTW the pics will be of my car not mustang crushers Jeep!

Alright your an exception to the trend.... MOST VW guys I see are running high 14s

Are you using the Mk1 type transmission still? My friend went through a few of them and that was just with the 2.0L 16v... it wasn't even supercharged yet. He swapped the Mk3 type transmission in, with the cable shift box, and hasn't had any problems at all.

Like I said I did a lot of Resesarch before I started. One of my buddies is a GN SUPER FREAK, and I owe a fair bit to him. He got me my intercooler, helped me mount it set up my cams and valve train, install the turbo etc. I built the bottom end myself, including the extra bracing and strengthening that we figured it would need to handle up to 20 psi. The head is almost completely Oettinger built, with Shrick cams, and extremely hard valve springs. Not titanium, but doubled. The intake is cis-e, not a 1.8 16v intake. With bigger injectors. I can't remember the specs right off hand. But lets just say I don't lean out at 7000 rpm like most others. The head was ported polished etc, with the intake and exaust matched to it. The crank was balanced, knife edged and windage tray installed although I'm not sure how much good it does. I think I just had a weak moment looking through the Nuespeed catalog.
The tranny is a passat tranny with a stage 1 clutch. The weak link in the drive train seems to be cv joints and axles. I go through a set a year. Well O.K. I go through a set of front tires a summer too.LOL So far I haven' broken the tranny, but am on my 2nd clutch in four years. The torque just rips it but if I went with a stiffer clutch I figured I would probably break trannys, and even more tranny mounts than I already do. BTW if any rabbit people are reading this, don't waste your money on Nuespeed rear tranny mounts. I can break them just as easily as stock ones.
When I started the interior I was stumped. The interior in the car was mint! It was an RV queen it's whole life, and the passenger door grease was so stiff, that I had to remove the lock and rebuild it. The seats and carpet were grey, not that ing horrible maroon that so many rabbits had. But I wanted 5 point belts, and it had to seat 4. So Corbeau got a call and I got 4 Monza seats. Sold all the seats to a guy in Texas who was restoring a rabbit. I did however keep my original Rabbit floor mats that were actually in the car when I bought it! I' ve never seen another set, and they only go in the car when I go to shows. Then I had an 8 point cage put in, Dynamated the whole floor and order lightweight carpet to go in it.
Well at this point I've got about 2.5 years into it, the engine runs sweet, but the exhaust was choking it, and I was running mid to low 13's. Not what I wanted. When I started, I set my sights on 12's, and I was going to get it without NOS no matter what. So I spent 800 ona full 2 inch exhaust with a HOOKER performance muffler, which I recommend to all who build Turbo engines. Almost no back pressure, and not loud at all.
Then I found a Cabby with polished GLH wheels on it. At this point I was running 14" gti wheels, and looking to go to 15's. Unfortunately I'm picky, and hadn't seen any that I really liked. But I saw those GLH wheels, looked chromed but just polished and had to have them, so I made a deal traded my gti wheels, and haven't looked back.
Well I hoipe that tells you how to get a rabbit to run 12's, and BTW still get 40 mpg highway. I'm not telling you city mileage because I've got a lead foot and it's embarassing how bad my mileage is in town.
