question about short shifters

alright guys i bought and installed a short shifter from ebay (i know lol) and i dunno if its normal or not but it rubs just a bit on top of the heat shield thats right under the shifter. and everytime i move it u can hear it rubbing and it rattles and all that crap. is this normal for EK coupes? and is there a way to fix it.

i had the same problem with my ek, but what i did was i ended up cutting the small metal part from the shifter linkage thats rubbing against the heat shield with a small metal saw from underneath the car. its a lot of work to actually getting it off cuz it took me time to saw it off from a small piece of saw. but after that it was free as a bird.
