Shift Knod Help

Hey Guys!

I really need help, i have a 2003 honda civic, the car is an automatic transmission, what i want to do with the "shifter" is replace it with a nice momo shifter and a black leather shift boot, i know it will be hard, but i was wondering if there is anyway i can take off the lock for it so that i can do this.......... Like on the automatic there is a button on the shifter you have to pull back in order to change from gear to gear....... I dont want that anymore, i would like a plane shifter without that ......... Does anyone know if there is a lock i could take out?

Wow if you find this hard ...nevermind.
Anyways all you have to do is find a way to keep that button depressed. Im sure you can remove it altogether (the button). Try opening the whole assembly and there should be a way to take it out. I did this on my cousins Avenger and it worked fine. You then find a way to put that new **** on, you might have to make your own threading though, also not very difficult.
The shift boot you just slide under the panels it it should stay there.

Go to a Civic site and get your self a FSM, it will show you how to disassemble everything.

BTW, its ****

ok, we get that your rich.... anyways as to shifting into reverse while driving, its not that hard. its called accidents. i.e. place a map near your centre console and it fals, reverse, accidently tap it, reverse... see my point
