What years is a g2 teg? Otherwise maybe a vehicle speed sensor - (VSS?)

ive seen this problem before... the same thing happens on lx/dx civics... it is a wire touching the ground that shouldnt be... find the short... then also check if you're alternator/sp sensor fuse is blown and replace if it is

WELL IF YOUR CAR USES A SPEEDO CABLE THEN U CAN RULE OUT ANYTHING ELECTRICAL (ground, a short) .... THE PROBLEM CAN ONLY BE AT 2 PLACES THE SPEED SENOR IN THE TRANNY OR WHERE THE CABLE HOOKS UP IN THE BACK OF THE CLUSTER.....

i have helped him and we can spin the cable with a drill when it is hooked up to thre cluster and it still jumps. cable is not stretched or kinked in any way.

ya ive made sure the cable is pushed in. it worked when i parked my car for the winter. the only thing that i did was put a new dash in my car. then when i put my car back on the road it was skipping.

Get under the car, follow the speedometer drive cable to where it goes into the transmission. This is the speedometer drive gear. Unscrew the cable from the transmission, pull out the speedometer drive gear and see if there are any missing teeth.
