you are both kinda right....
On a stock compression engine, he will probably only run wastegate pressure (6-8psi?) so the TD05 would have no problem flowing till 8,000 rpm and hold boost.
But when he raises the boost, like everyone with a turbo car does he will probably have the boost drop off. My boost controller is set to 15psi, but by 5500RPM, im lucky to be pushing 13psi. The turbos just cant push enough air to keep the pressure up when you are sucking that much air into the engine.
TD05 from a DSM pushes 15psi regularly on a 2L engine. Should be fine for a high compression 1.6L. Hey for $100 you cant go wrong
