vtec wiring issue

ok this is how it is.

I have a d16z6 and I just installed a P08 ECU. I am wondering how I hook Vtec up to the ecu..what pins do i use?????????? I also need to know, since i was reading about the ecu that it requires a 1 wire O2 sensor and I am running 4...is there some way to convert that? Please help out, all posts r greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Travis

Well you should have said which chassi this engine was in. One is only to assume that is it going into a 92-95 civic. First of all the p08 is for the d15b where as the p28 is for the obvious 92-95 vtec engines. Your best choice was to use the correct ecu as i'm sure vtec would not work on the p08 ecu with the z6 due to oil pressure switch. In terms of the o2 sensor you should get a pin out diagram for the ecu if the wiring does not exist in the harness. I am not sure what harness you are using though ??
Also what code are you getting? you never said in your orginal post...

These are the pin designations for the OBD1 ECU as well as their wire color and voltage. I always have a hard time finding this information when I need it as I'm sure others do, so here it is

KEY:
(voltage values measured in DC Volts unless otherwise specified)
V = Volts
Wht = White
Blk = Black
Grn = Green
Yel = Yellow
Brn = Brown
Blu = Blue
Org = Orange

KOEO = Key On Engine Off
KOER = Key On Engine Running

A, B, D= Slot. Numbers are read up and down from left to right, not straight across (see diagram at end).

A1-INJ1 INJECTOR#1 Brown, Battery Voltage with KOEO
A2-INJ4 INJECTOR#4 Yellow, Battery Voltage with KOEO
A3-INJ2 INJECTOR#2 Red, Battery Voltage with KOEO
A4-VTS VTEC solenoid GRN/YEL, n/a
A5-INJ3 INJECTOR#3 Blue, Battery Voltage with KOEO
A6-PO2SHTC O2 sensor heating element Org/Wht, Battery Voltage with KOEO
A7-FLR1 fuel pump Grn/BLK, Battery Voltage with KOEO
A8-empty A7 and A8 have the same circurt, so they can be the same
A9-IACV IAC valve Blk/Blu, About 10v KOEO on Warm engine
A10-empty

no the p08 will not work if its a 91 due to obd differances. Why would you have issues from the automatic ecu?

that is a lock up torque converter code so there should be no worries about that code as you have a manual transmission i assume.

p08 from a 91, the p08 only came from a 92 and up, if your vehicle is 92 and up, plug 'er in, wire up that vtec and enjoy
