what is the purpose of the "M" terminal on a starter motor solenoid?

this is pertinent to a 1998 Honda Civix LX 1.6L D16Y7 engine w/ a/t

(i've already figured out the "B" terminal is from the battery B+ terminal, and the "S" terminal is from the ignition switch)
