What is a QC circle?

Different businesses have slightly different definitions, but in automotive, it consists of associates from different work groups, like Quality Control, Production, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, etc. who gather because of their knowledge of their respective discipline. Usually the group is chosen by management to dissect and define a reoccurring product quality problem.The group first defines the true problem, then determines probable causes, and investigates each option, continually narrowing the list, until the root cause is soundly determined. The circle then must brainstorm to determine the most appropriate corrective action or "FIX", the implement the corrective action and continually check to ensure that the fix has actually resolved the problem, without creating other problems as a result.I hope this helps.
