wierd noise from engine

wierd noise from engine

hey i have this lude with the h22a1 and at 24-2500 rpm i can hear this loud noise what sounds like a bunch of crickets , and it is right annoying cruising in town and havin other people lookin at your ride because of some stupid noise. can idle at 2500 rpm and it is fairly loud but anyother rpm is fine. just wierd any suggestions??

are you sure thats not your air intake? Aftermarket intakes tend to un muffle thise noise. If you notice that stock air filter piping have a vacuum resivoir to eliminate this noise.

could be a partially clogged cat. mine did it at 1100 and 3000.

well i have a h22a1 and check ur timing belt the tensioner could be finished thats why nmost ppl go with the h23 timing belt conversion...i bet thats what it is...timing belt gets loose and then when u step on it tightens...

hey, got lookin under her and took splash shield off and had someone keep her at 2500rpm and fiddle around with some stuff and it turned out to be an exhaust shroud vibrating right under the engine. am gonna rigg a piece of rubber ur somethan to keep her quiet

ya usally honda's have that problem with the heat sheild around the exhaust rattling, put a clamp around it

you would have to hear it, its the closest thing i can describe it as, thats why i thought it was a drivebelt but it could be worse i suppose. i feel better knowing what it is after all it is a honda
