I bought the car; which is a 5 speed; with 15miles on it after only 4000 miles it needed a new head gasket which was taken care of by the dealer. Now I have just over 50000 miles on it and it needs an new transmission. I had 2 previous civics the first one a 91 had 108000 miles and never a problem; reason for number 2. A 97 this had 61000 miles when I traded it in and never had a problem either. I was reading that some of the tranni's for the 2002-2005 series came from the phillipines could this possibly be the problem and if so is there anyway to get retribution?
