Right now I'm driving a v8 with 17 mpg on premium gas. I drive a lot, and will save about $150 a month on just gas by getting a 92-95 civic that gets about 30-35 mpg. That would pay for itself pretty early. I found one that is in really good body work(not liking the upgraded exhaust and bigger wheels) for right under $3,000. The only thing I'm afraid of is the 240k miles on it. I've heard hondas last a LONG time, especially ones that are just for driving and no racing and such. Is 240k miles too bad? What is usually the time(miles) when they die out?

i seem to remember hearing from somewhere/someone that hondas, nissans, and toyotas typically either last for around 175k or forever (probably 300-350k). seeing as how i dont remember the source, not too sure about the reliability of it, but might be worth doing a little research into. it would also depend on how well the car was maintained.

Hard to say without running some tests on the engine. It all depends on how rough it was treated during those 240K miles.































If it was well maintained, not abused, and you had preformed a compression test and/or leak-down test and they came back OK, than id say that 240K miles is nothing to worry about.































Either way if you get it, be prepared to keep up on the maintenance or you could start having problems.
