Does the owner have all the maintenance records with it? A well maintained Honda with low miles is usually a sure bet. Especially for $1700. I have had three Honda Civics and they are all gems. Gas mileage is great and dependability even better. I say you can't go wrong. Also use the VIN # to see if it has been in any major accidents.

A rice burner with 130K isn't worth much. If it runs a little hot. Probably needs a valve job. About $900. Have someone go over it that knows cars
