Help!!!!! Timing Belt

Hi there i need to replace my timing belt i worked for 4 hours today at the stupid bolt on the crankshaft drivebelt pulley bolt and gave up but i noticed something that kind of bugged me and that is that the crankshaft drivebelt pulley will spin pretty easily with just my hand so my questions are is it supposed to spin so easily and what is the best way to get this bolt off im driving a 1986 CRX dx

Do you mean the pulley is spinning along with the crank, or on it's own? NB. there is a woodruff key to lock pulley to crank, be carefull not to lose it.

Depending on your pulley type, it may be possible to make up a locking bar tool. Get yourself a 15inch lenth of 1/4 inch bar or angel iron and drill two holes in it that are same space apart as those in pulley. Fit 1/4 inch bolts with locknuts through holes, which are long enough to fit into pulley holes and you have your tool.
You lock the bar onto garage floor or block of some kind and loosen pulley bolt with breaker bar.
If however your pulley has the hexagonal recess on flange, you could modify a large nut and make up a different tool, or give in and buy correct tool from Honda dealer.
If you intend keeping vehicle for a while then an investment anyway.
