Before you get to the muffler there are other restrictions in the system that should be addressed.
Such as the exhaust manifold, and catalytic.
You should be able to find a complete system for around 1 grand, most likely less if you shop wisely.
As for the sound you want, go to you-tube and do a search for Honda Civic exhaust and there will most likely be clips of different makes of exhaust systems that users have recorded to help you select the one you want.
