Honda Civic Si coupe, sedan all new for 2012 inside and out

Honda’s proven track record of producing a well-balanced tuner vehicle echoes more strongly today than before, especially with the latest generation of Civic Si.

For the 2012 model year, the Si is all new both inside and out, just like the rest of the Civic family. But differentiating the two- or four-door sport-tuned editions of Honda’s popular-selling vehicles is a unique grille, a body-coloured deck lid spoiler with an LED centre brake light, 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/45R17 tires, fog lights, and a chrome exhaust finisher.

Slip inside the Si’s sultry cabin and there are quite a few reminders that you’re not in an average Civic. Note the red theme: red backlit gauges, combined with firmly bolstered cloth sport seats with suede-like trim with red stitching, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel also with red stitching. Since red is my favourite colour, I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin’s coloured accents juxtaposed with the black and silver tones.

Adding to the interior’s boldness is a 360-watt AM/FM/CD premium audio system with seven speakers and a subwoofer. Not to mention the USB interface and an MP3/auxiliary input jack. A sleek car with a great-sounding stereo system is always a pleasure to have in my driveway.
