...to use only Honda oil. Yes/no? A very reliable mechanic I just met said I should have been using only Honda oil all this time, and need to change. My son's '92 Civic has also only had Pennzoil 10 minute service and he said he's never had any trouble.

It is all ok as long as you use proper viscosity and detergent oil.

Honda just slaps their logo on someone else's oil. All motor oil needs to pass ATSM standards. Some are better than others, but even the cheap grocery store brand stuff will work fine as long as it's the right weight.

oil is oil it dont mater what brand my car say only mobil 1 but can use any oil thay just want your $$
