My car wont stay on?

Its a 87 Honda CRX its not Fuel injected it has a carb and a manual fuel pump which is connected to the cylinder head

ok so first i thought it was the spark plug cables because when i was heading home i would step on the gas pedal to accelerate the car and it would accelerate real slow for about 3 seconds then it would just go fast































so the next day i check the cables and they were fine and i tried to start the car it would accelerated to about 3000 RPM and it would die































i thought it was spark plug cables because this similar problem happen about a moth ago and it was because the spark plug cables were burned from making contact with the exhaust manifold so i bought them and installed them then it worked fine















My brother told me it was the fuel pump that wasn't sending gas to the carb but i don't think thats the problem because i have a glass filter between the fuel pump and the carb















and the filter does fill up with gas















at the same time it could be the fuel pump that doesn't have enough pressure































so yea any suggestions or tips on what the problem might be

it still could be the fuel pump because as you said it dies when you tet to around 3000 rpm. that would require much more fuel pressure than idle.















i had a car once that ha dfule pump problems over and over again. it doesn't make sense that a fuel pump would continually need to be replaced so there may be a different culprit hiding behind the fule pump problems such as clogged fule lines or a kinked fule line.
