Is it possible to put 14.7 gallons into my Civic Hybrid when the gas tank...
...holds no more than 13.2 gallons? I filled up recently and was shocked to notice that the pump shut off after supposedly giving me 14.7 gallons. My owner's manual indicates that my car has either an 11.7 gallon tank or a 13.2 gallon tank.
I gave the information to a governmental representative with the Department of Weights and Measures and he checked the pump where I filled up. The pump checked out OK.
Has anyone go an answer that makes good sense?
