Ticking when heat/air is on for Honda Civic Ex?

I have begun to hear a ticking sound when my heating/ air system is on. When the system is turned off or if it is not on, the ticking stops (or it isn't present). Does anyone have any suggestions? My car is a manual, Honda Civic Ex, 2000 model with 148000 miles on it.

It sounds like a circulation blade might be loose or warped. Turning on the heat or ac will cause the blade to turn to force the air into the cabin. Years of use will often cause the blades to loosen a bit and make noise. Some can be a PITA to get to, just turn up the radio a bit louder! = )
