What difference would it make if I "seam-welded" my civic chassis?

I have a 96 civic sedan

Ive heard many good things about seam-welding. Like it makes the car more durable in a crash, and it stiffens the chassis considerably.

Your thoughts?

If you want a stiffer car put a roll cage in and fit strut braces. Seam welding only serves to stop the car tearing apart so easily in a crash.
