Let me just say that I've always been a fan of little 4 cylinder hatchback cars. I can't stand coupes, but there's just something about a hatchback that I've always preferred. Maybe it's because I'm tall and they often offer more leg room than a coupe. I don't know.































Anyway, I was just browsing the autotrader site and noticed that little '90-'93 Honda Civic hatchbacks with close to 200,000 miles still sell for anywhere between $3,000 and $6,000. How and why is this? Are they THAT reliable? I mean, you can buy a used 2006 Chevy Cobalt with under 30,000 miles for well under $9,000. I've heard of Hondas lasting "forever", but are they really worth that kind of money for a 10-15 year old car with close to 200,000 miles?

Yup, the engines and transmissions last so long, they're well worth keeping and fixing up. You just can't seem to get that kind of longevity out of a domestic vehicle.
