Why is my '08 Honda Civic stalling a bit?

A few days ago I was in the middle of a left turn when I decided to put gas into the turn it didn't do anything, except for the noise that comes up when you're revving a car. I did it twice, a bit harder the second time, and it did not move at all but when I noticed that my son had accidentally place the car in neutral; therefore explaining why the car wasn't going anywhere. I put it back on drive and we were fine. But for the last couple of days I've noticed that the car hasn't been driving as smooth or fast as before. Could this be due to the forceful revving I performed, or the fact that I am no longer warming up the car before I drive (I was raised with the notion of "having" to warm up the car before I drive it, but now I've been told by all that that no longer is true; just a 1 minute warm up is needed for the oil to circulate)? Can anyone please explain? Thank you all.

If I were you, I'd log onto Cartalk.com, which is part of the PBS Saturday radio show called, "Cartalk." You may also want to call in to the program. Their website has a community Q & A section. You're right, there is no longer a reason for a warm-up period. Also, you certainly are under the new car warranty. Why not take it back to the dealer for a computer diagnosis.

What I would do is because the car is a 2008, that means there is a warranty so I would take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
