Yep, a form of the "dance 'n twist!"

Despite virtually all of the current raw climate data pointing toward a
continued cooling, (a cyclical norm), they still pout, cry and whimper
chicken little tunz.

Ya gotta luv 'em!

much more likely there was a pre-existing stone chip or other surface
defect.

in the lab, glass can be incredibly strong. just amazingly so. but in
the real world, the slightest flaw leads to fracture. that's why
toughened glass is strong, not because it's not flawed, but because the
flaws it has are kept under compression so the un-flawed part of the
glass, the center not exposed to atmosphere, retains strength.

as for your windshield, you may be able to use one of those acrylic repair
kits. than can achieve very good results when done right.

Yeah, but I once watched a chip turn into a huge crack in front of my
eyes when I turned the defroster on on a cold, bitter Dallas winter
morning.

But yeah, I've seen some pretty badly beaten up windshields. I've
also heard of some cops pulling people over and giving them tickets
for "unsafe vehicle". Judge requires proof of repair and new
inspection to dismiss.

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams come true.
Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which
will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no
matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.
