2000 Civic SiR clutch pedal gritty and noisy
Hey, has anyone every had this problem? 2000 Civic SiR coupe (92,000km).
the clutch pedal about half way up on the up motion starts feeling gritty,
stiff and is noisy, and sometimes on the way back down 3/4 of the way and
down to the bottom it does the same thing. I took it in and they "lubed"
the linkage. Came back and took it in again and this time they just said
"we lubed it". Came back again and this time the say "we repacked the
bearing in the slave cylinder". I didn't know there was a bearing in the
slave cylinder! Well guess what ... the same problem. I am not impressed
and it is going back again for a 4th time! If anyone can help that
would be cool.

I've replaced quite a few clutches that were worn out that also fit
your description. I always clean and lube the holder for the TO
bearing and all the areas where contact occurs (fork, ball stud, etc)
and the clutch feels "like new" when I'm done....probably because it
IS new........

Re: 2000 Civic SiR clutch pedal gritty and noisy
Did they change the hydraulic (brake) fluid in the clutch line? That
helped a buddy of mine with a similar problem in an Integra.
