2001 CRV headlight works intermittently?
I have a 2001 CRV that has worked just dandy until a recent problem with my
left headlamp. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. The filaments appear intact. The connection seems firm. However, when it goes out, sometimes I can jiggle the connection and then shut the hood (with a little slam) and it goes back on! Must be a connection, no? How do I get to the bottom of this? Thanks! -- x-no-archive: yes Dave |

If you buy a new one rather than swap the existing ones, you have a spare that you'll likely need eventually. Alternately, you could put new connectors or recrimp the old ones first, but my bet is on the lamp itself, despite that it apears intact. |

If the problem doesn't follow the bulb, look at the ground connection for the bulb. Often the wire will go to a screw, and the metal under the ring terminal there may need to be scraped bare. (I like ScotchBrite for that, although a knife blade does a passable job.) Mike |
