Re: 2003 Accord Squeaks
Just the squeaks do not decide the quality!
Compare the Accord interior to the Camry interior. Camry looks like a taxi
cab. Honda has a better looking interior than any other car in its
class!(for me alteast).
It is just the first year on this new model. It will get better as time
goes. Did you demonstrated the squeaks to the dealership?
I never had any problems on my Accord EX 2003.

Re: 2003 Accord Squeaks
My 03 EX has a constant squeak from the center console. I can reproduce
the noise, even parked, just but pressing back and forth on it. First
dealer trip did not result in a fix.

Re: 2003 Accord Squeaks
Symptom: Jiggling, squeaking, high-pitched sound that occurs when th
vehicle is in motion. Kind of like rubber on steel or plastic or som
other squeaky material.
Cause: It took me 4 months to figure out this flaw in an otherwise nic
car (the other was warping of front brake discs--both shortcomings ar
minor). If this is what you're hearing, check the console at the gea
selector. Specifically, check where the console comes into contact wit
the plastic P-R-N-D piece of plastic. Press and move the 1" silver edg
(left or right) a few times and you should be able to replicate thi
noise. Flexing of the vehicle's frame produces this noise when th
silver console and P-R-N-D piece of plastic rub against each other.
Treatment: Add one drop of lubricant where the console and P-R-N-
piece of plastic come in contact. That is all. Just don't use too muc
lubricant or you may see gook build-up in several weeks. I used dr
bicycle lubricant

Re: 2003 Accord Squeaks
By the way, we shouldn't let manufacturers get off the hook that easily
I am very happy with my Accord EX V-6 but a constant mouse squeak on
100 mile commute is hard to ignore. The same applies with the effect
of warped rotors everytime I step on my brakes.
They must know about product flaws (and customer displeasure with thos
annoyances) so they can make a better product. But keeping things i
perspective, Toyotas and Hondas (and their subs) are still some of th
best built vehicles. I wonder if American quality control will eve
meet Japanese standards? Most of the new Accords ARE being built here
