I've wondered a bit at the headlights on my new Accord EX. I think
that what appears as less illumination is actually better aimed light,
and the fact that you can't really see the nose of your own car.
Less light bounces back off the bumper of the car in front of me, but
lights aren't supposed to shine there (and into the eyes of oncoming
drivers or into the rearview mirrors of the car in front), but down
onto the road. I think something like that is going on.
