I just bought a 2006 Civic Hybrid. It is substantially quieter than my
2004 Si or my wife's 2003 Civic LX.

I also saw that review and wondered where the reviewer was coming from.
In my opinion, this is a very quiet and civilized car. Then again, I
have seen the 2006 Civic Hybrid described as "jerky" in it's
acceleration and driveability. I wonder what planet some of these
reviewers are coming from. Personally, I don't want to drive a Cadillac
or Buick marshmallow.

Just my 2 cents.

Relative to other small cars, it is rather quiet. It is not a
Buick or other outstandingly quiet cars, but it is quite nice.
Also, noise is relative to a lot of factors, including tyres and
road conditions. Try it out and see for yourself.

We test drove the 2006 Civic Hybrid before buying the 2005 Accord Hybrid. I
think both could be described as jerky. When the engine is off because your
foot is on the brake and you lift the foot you do get a bit of a jerk.
Nothing bad but it is different. Driving the Accord 2005 kind of reminds me
of certain carnival rides.

transmitted more tire/road noise than they should. I assumed it was
just the Honda design

I find that directional V-tread tires have lower road noise than regular
tread tires.They also give better wet surface traction and braking.

I have an 06 Civic LX and an 04 odyssey exl....

believe it or not the Civic is quieter than the Odyssey by a lot. That
said, the Odyssey has always been kind of noisy. I have a Suburban too
and it is MUCH quieter than either Honda. So it depends on your
tolerance.

I have an 06 Civic LX and an 04 odyssey exl....

tire generates less noise than tires with a regular tread pattern.Listen to
a big pickup truck with knobby off-road tires! You can hear them coming
from 100s of feet away,if not more.
