I looked at the LX - P which is a bargain. You can get it with a 5 speed
auto or the manual. This LX has 4 wheel disc brakes and alloys and power
driver seat with alloys. The base I4 now has 177 hp which is more than
enough. The dash looked simple enough. and the car is very roomy. The
tests I have read and a video confirm it handling -- a Honda hallmark. Of
course, I have no reason to get rid of my 0-6 I4 EX coupe.

You forgot to mention that it's also pretty ugly. Not that Accords
were ever beautiful (like an Audi) but dang, the new one is pretty
bizarre. Very Saturn L-Series-like. Hopefully it will look better in
the flesh, like the new Subaru Impreza. That car also looks very bad
in pictures, much nicer in person....

I have to bring my Ody in for an oil change next week, hopefully the
dealer with have the new Accord so I can see for myself.

You forgot to mention that it's also pretty ugly. Not that Accords

For the last five (ten? twenty?) years it seems like all the Japanese
manufacturers used the same generic designs - and clutter. My 04 and
07 Accords are OK, nothing more, and look an awful lot like Toyotas
and Mazdas and I'm not sure how many others.

Every automaker keeps making their autos bigger and heavier with each new
model. They never learn.
I can recall when the Accord was the size of today's Civics.

Agreed. Although gas mileage is much better, the cars are also getting
bloated. Personally I really liked the design/style of some of the older
Accords vs. the newer ones. If they want performance and gas mileage, just
think what they can do if the cars were smaller, lighter and more nimble.

I miss the Prelude (used to have an '89) and Integra too. More style and
character.
