Your MPG seems on the high side, per fueleconomy.gov (not sure exactly
which sub-model of Civic you have, so it is hard to say more). You
must be doing something right with maintenance, driving style, etc. :-)

which sub-model of Civic you have, so it is hard to say more). You
must be doing something right with maintenance, driving style, etc. :-)

It may also help to know how much driving was city and how much was highway.

and my 89 civic got 34.17mpg. it wasn't babied either.
it shows how much extra work the otherwise much more efficient and
better managed 04 engine has to do lugging all that extra "crash safety"
weight around all over the place.

Just drove a 2008 CR-V LX-2WD from STL to Las Vegas and back. According
to the in-car computer, we got 34.3mpg.
