94 Accord Thermostat Question
What is special about the 1994 thermostat? Dealer wants $45.00 c/w seal
which seems a tad bit hight to me. Local jobbers want $20.00 and up.
As well it seems like 170/180's are all that's available. It routinely
gets -20 (almost all of Jan 2003) here and I was hoping for something like a
190 degree to get max heat.
This is my first Honda and was wondering if there was something special
starting in 1994 because pre 94 Honda thermostats are pretty much on-par
with all other cars. ( $8-10 and all temperatures readily available)
BC
94 Accord &
92 Camry
which seems a tad bit hight to me. Local jobbers want $20.00 and up.

Re: 94 Accord Thermostat Question
Pretty much on ALL hondas you'll find that ANYTHING from the dealer is
expensive as crap. If your are a car person your best bet is to buy a
haynes manual, buy the thermostat from auto zone, jcwhitney, napa, etc.
and put it in yourself. if mecanically inclined, if you love your car
you can buy the thermostat from auto zone or something, take it to the
dealer and have them put it on or a good TRUSTED!!!!!!!! mechanic and
have them put it in.
